Grabbers are designed to help the user to pick up objects that are out of reach from them. Say for example, a person was sat in their chair and they dropped the TV remote on the floor. Ordinarily, a person free from disability would simply get out of the chair, and bend down to pick it up. People with mobility issues however, cannot do that, and trying to retrieve the remote could cause them a great deal of pain and discomfort, and could actually put their life at risk, as if they were to fall, they may not be able to get up. A grabber however, is basically operated by squeezing a trigger, where the retractable jaws will open, clamp onto the device in question, and then allow the user to retrieve it.

Finally, the last item we’ll be looking at today is a walking stick. Walking sticks are also very simple devices, yet they are some of the most useful, especially in terms of mobility issues. Walking sticks are used by a whole variety of people, for all kinds of reasons. Though primarily, walking sticks may be used by the elderly, in reality, they can be used by anybody dealing with mobility issues of any sort. People dealing with back pain, and hip pain, often make use of walking sticks, as do people who deal with sore and aching joints. These are some of the most primitive products for the disabled, but as the saying goes ‘if it’s not broken, then don’t fix it’.
